The yellow-hooded blackbird is found in marshes and wet grasslands. This one is around the Trincity Sewage Treatment works, where the males form colonies during breeding season. They build nests, then attract females to their nests. Once a female has been attracted to a nest and is incubating, the male constructs another nest and tries to attract another female. Males can do this up to 5 times and it is always the male that builds the nests.
