Is this bird molting or is it suffering from parasite (feather mite)? Other kinds of bald birds (such as Blue Jays) are also observed around the same time. This often takes place in late summer after the breeding is over. New feathers grow in before fall, however. It could also be caused simply by dietary deficiencies.
